Can international students study in Malaysia?
Yes. Malaysia welcomes international students at private and public universities and colleges, with programmes from Diploma to PhD. Most international students need a student pass, which is processed through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
Are degrees from Malaysian universities recognised?
Malaysian programmes are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and several institutions offer degrees in partnership with, or as branch campuses of, universities from the UK, Australia and elsewhere. We help you check recognition for your career plans and home country.
Are programmes taught in English?
Most programmes at private universities are taught in English. Universities usually ask for proof of English proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL results, or an alternative accepted by the university.
How does the Malaysian student pass process work?
Once you accept an offer, your university submits your student pass application to EMGS. After approval you receive a letter allowing you to travel, then complete a medical screening and pass endorsement after arriving. We guide you through the documents at every stage.
When are the intakes?
Many programmes have more than one intake each year, often around January/February, May and September. Exact dates depend on the university and course, so we will confirm the intakes for your shortlist.
